Original German Nazi Labour day 1935 badge

Original Third Reich badge Workers day, Labour day 1935 . Producer: Dechsler and Sohn. Very nice condition.

As was common at the time any group or organization holding an event would normally produce a badge or lapel pin to commemorative the event. These badges/lapel pins would be worn by participants, or given away or sold to promote the event or raise funds as required. A solid struck aluminium badge in the form of a 34mm x 46mm vertical oval. Arching across the top of the badge is “Tag Der Arbeit” (Day Of Labor), underneath of which are three figures – a heavy labourer with an apron and sledgehammer, a planner or supervisor with a rolled paper, and a farm worker with an apron and sheaves of barley. They represent the combined forces of labour, management and farm workers. Underneath the figures is an eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, the wreath partially descending below the limits of the oval, with “19” to one side of it and “35” to the other.
