Knight's Cross of the Army - Hans Hecker, born on February 26, 1895 in Duisburg, received the Knight's Cross on August 5, 1940 as lieutenant colonel and commander of a pioneer battalion.

Produced by F. Bruckmann KG. in Munich. Drawing by Prof. Oskar Graf in Munich. Published by August Gunkel Verlag in Dusseldorf. B&W drawing. Measures 105 x 149 mm. Never mailed. In very good condition with minor signs of wear.

Hans Hecker (26 February 1895 – 1 May 1979) was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Hans Hecker was captured by Allied troops in 1945 and was released in 1947.
