Citizens of two worlds? A preaching by Josef Teusch. Catholic Church booklet in good condition.
Born in Cologne, Josef Teusch was one of the most important clergymen in 20th century Rhineland Catholicism. His stations in life led the later vicar general of Cologne via Essen, Bonn, Rome, Genoa, Venice and Florence back to Cologne. As head of the “Abwehrstelle” of the Archdiocese of Cologne, he resolutely opposed National Socialist ideology with organizational skills and leadership competence. As vicar general and close confidant of Joseph Cardinal Frings, he gained influence over decisions made by the German episcopate from 1952 onwards. His name is inextricably linked with the founding of the Catholic aid organizations “Misereor” and “Adveniat”, of which he was one of the driving forces. In the face of progressive secularization in the course of the 20th century, he warned against the erosion of faith, insecurity of faith and church division.
