Offered is a fine original 1940 example of the magnificent oversized hardcover book on the New Reichschancellery(DIE NEUE
REICHSKANZLEI) built by Professor Albert Speer for Germany's 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, in Berlin in 1938.

The very heavily illustrated hardcover book measures 11-3/8 x 14-1/2 inches and has over 130 pages including many views and sections of the enormous building, some as large as 14 x 36 inches! This example is from the Second Edition of 20,000 copies with the Reichschancellery eagle on the front cover, printed on excellent quality paper.

Hitler's New German State Chancellery in Berlin was huge in scale and grand in concept and excecution. It was a full city block long with three floors above ground in some places and it had many bunkers beneath it. It was never intended to be the architectural focal point of Hitler's new Berlin, but rather a temporary seat adequate to the power and position of Germany's Führer, the most powerful secular leader in Europe

Photographs cover the building, its features and its contents in the smallest detail, from the Honor Courtyard through the Mosaic Hall, and the Marble Gallery to Adolf Hitler's Office. The imagery barely disguised in the threatening inlays on Hitler's desk is shown and explained in detail. There are full-color pages showing all the important rooms as well as the exterior. There are countless photos of the special architectural work done by Arno Breker, Hermann Giesler, Kurt Schmid-Ehmen, Josef Thorak and others.
