Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein, Diessen am Ammersee, 1937. Hardcover. Book Condition: very good First edition. Interleaved with 8 sheets of heavy black card stock with 22 mounted b/w stereographs. Remaining 78 stereographs rest in lowered pockets inside of rear cover, stereoscope housed in lower pocket inside front cover. Original gold-stamped red cloth. Beveled edges. Binding protected by modern mylar.
The National Socialist Reichsparteitage (in English usually referred to as the Nuremberg Rallies) were the annual rallies of the Nazi Party, held from 1923 to 1938. They were large propaganda events, especially after Hitler's rise to power in 1933. From 1933 until 1938 the Reichsparteitage were held in Nuremberg. Each rally was given a programmatic title, which related to recent national events. The b/w photographs by Heinrich Hoffmann document the 9th Party Congress in 1937, which was named "Reichstag der Arbeit (Rally of Work). The photographs feature Hitler in various situations, depict parades & ceremonies, presentations by the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, Arbeitsdienst, Hitler-Youth, mass rallies, Nazi officials, and Nuremberg city scapes.
Text in German by Pitter Gern. Foreword by Dietrich. Minor wear and staining on cloth. Complete with all stereographs and stereoscope. Binding and interior in very good condition.
